Yes, and the process is very similar to restoring a floor. Polishes are used as well as grinding and sanding pads to remove scratches, stains, watermarks and etchings. Sealers are always applied once completed.

After a thorough professional cleaning and polishing a lite polish and a reseal should happen between 3-5 years. This process usually takes 1/3 the time or less than the original restoration.

The Blue Steam Restoration process is different depending on the tile and its condition. There are three main types of tiles (Saltillo, Lincoln, and Terra cotta ) Stripping machines, strippers and degreasers are used to clean and remove layers of dirt, film, calcium, efflorescence and sealers. At the completion of the restoration, sealers are re-applied in accordance with the customer’s specifications on desired shine.

Tile and grout generally speaking are the simplest to clean. This is due to the fact that porcelain and ceramic are man made and are so dense that dirt and grime does not penetrate into the tile. Grout on the other hand is very porous and can soak stains up like a sponge if not properly sealed. Blue Steam uses high pressure steam cleaners along with tile scrubbing machines to ensure that every nook and cranny gets cleaned, while at the same time removing any residue from the cleaned area. Grout sealing is recommended to properly insure your grout will never stain.
